Description
The 3DM580 is a high-resolution three-phase microstepping driver based on precision current control. Suitable for driving 3-phase hybrid stepper motors from NEMA size 17 to 34. It works with 18-50VDC and can supply 8A maximum current. You can set the DIP switches to get the current and microstepping signals you need.
General Features:
Anti-resonance system maintains optimum torque and full zero stability;
Automatic tuning to motor parameters allows application driver for a number of stepper motors;
The Multi-Stepping system allows you to change the step resolution, ensuring smooth operation of the motor;
Programmable step resolution from 200 to 51,200 per revolution;
Supply voltage up to +50V / DC;
Software change of current from 1.0A to 8.0A;
Pulse input frequency up to 500 kHz;
TTL-compatible opto-isolated inputs;
Automatic current reduction in hold mode;
Suitable for 3-6 wire 3-phase stepper motors;
Support PUL/DIR and CW/CCW modes;
Protection against voltage surge, short circuit and overcurrent
Conditions operation:
Cooling – natural or forced to maintain the operating temperature of 70℃;
Maximum vibration: 5.9 m/s2; Humidity: 40 -90% ;
Avoid dust, oil mist and corrosive gases;
Storage temperature: -20 ℃ +65 ℃;

Options
The driver uses an 8-bit DIP switch to set the microstep resolution and motor operating current:
SW 1 ┐ SW 2 ├─ Operating current SW 3 │ SW 4 ┘ SW 5 ── Holding current (50%/100%) SW 6 ┐ SW 7 ├─ Microstep resolution SW 8 ┘
Setting the operating current, first three DIP switches (SW1, 2, 3, 4):
Peak current A RMS current A SW1 SW2 SW3 SW3 Default setting off off off off 2, 5 1.8 on off off off 2.9 2.1 off on off off 3.2 2.3 on on off off 3.6 2.6 off off on off 4.0 2.9 on off on off 4, 5 3.2 off on on off 4.9 3.5 on on on off 5.3 3.8 off off off on 5.7 4.1 on off off on 6.2 4.4 off on off on 6, 4 4.6 on on off on 6.9 4.9 off off on on 7.3 5.2 on off on on 7.7 5.5 off on on on 8.0 5.7 on on on on
Setting the holding current with switch SW5.
In the OFF position, the holding current is set to 50% of the operating value,
in the ON position, it is set equal to the selected value of the operating current.
Microstep mode selection is set by DIP switches SW6, 7, 8 as shown in the table:
