The driver uses an 8-bit DIP switch to set the microstep resolution and motor operating current:

Setting the operating current, first three DIP switches (SW1, 2, 3, 4):

Setting the holding current with switch SW5.
In the OFF position, the holding current is set to 50% of the operating value,
in the ON position, it is set equal to the selected value of the operating current.

Microstep mode selection

Description

The 3DM580 is a high-resolution three-phase microstepping driver based on precision current control. Suitable for driving 3-phase hybrid stepper motors from NEMA size 17 to 34. It works with 18-50VDC and can supply 8A maximum current. You can set the DIP switches to get the current and microstepping signals you need.

The Multi-Stepping system allows you to change the step resolution, ensuring smooth operation of the motor;
Programmable step resolution from 200 to 51,200 per revolution;

Software change of current from 1.0A to 8.0A;
Pulse input frequency up to 500 kHz;
TTL-compatible opto-isolated inputs;
Automatic current reduction in hold mode;
Suitable for 3-6 wire 3-phase stepper motors;
Support PUL/DIR and CW/CCW modes;
Protection against voltage surge, short circuit and overcurrent
