Setting the operating current, first three DIP switches (SW1, 2, 3):

Description

DM556 is a high performance micro stepping driver based on sinusoidal current control technology. Thanks to this technology and the function of automatic adjustment to the motor (current self-regulation parameters), low noise and heating levels, smooth movement and the best performance at high speeds are achieved compared to most drivers on the market. Designed to work with 2-phase and 4-phase hybrid stepper motors.

General characteristics:
• Supply voltage up to +45 VDC.
• Output current up to 5.6A
• Auto-tuning function for motor
• Sinusoidal current control technology
• Input pulse frequency up to 200 kHz
• TTL compatible opto-isolated inputs
• Automatic current reduction in hold mode
• Control of 2-phase and 4-phase motors
• Support for PUL/DIR and CW/CCW modes
• Protection against voltage surges, short circuits and overcurrents

The driver is suitable for a wide range of stepper motors from 17 to 34 NEMA. Used with various kinds of machine tools such as XY tables, engraving machines, labeling machines, laser cutting machines, transfer machines, etc. Extremely well suited for applications requiring low noise, low heat, high speed and accuracy.
